Belize Activities

For breathtaking adventure, go underground to discover the Caves Branch River system. Spend the day diving into the abyss of the famed Blue Hole — a collapsed cave visible from outer space. For a more laid-back experience, venture to Caye Caulker or the popular sites of Shark-Ray Alley and Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Or, explore a vast number of fascinating Mayan ruins. Must-see sites include Xunantunich, Lamanai and Caracol — the largest ruin in Belize, located deep in the Chiquibil Forest Reserve.

Hike or bike the 126,000-acre Mountain Pine Ridge nature preserve, offering many hills, gorges, pools and waterfalls to explore. In the north, enjoy the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary; in the south, hike up Victoria Peak, Belize's tallest mountain. Caye Chapel, one of the most exquisite courses in the Caribbean, entices golfers with its championship caliber of play.

For an authentic experience, indulge in some local fare, such as fry jacks (fluffy fried dough crescents), conch fritters, soursop ice cream (made from tropical fruit) and rum punch. From Carnival in February to Lobsterfest in June, a getaway to Belize is always a good time.

Getting to Belize

Delta Vacations packages include round-trip airfare aboard Delta Air Lines® to Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE). Ambergris Caye hotels include flight between Belize City and San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, and round-trip transfers between the airport and selected hotel. Transfers from the airport to your hotel are included with most packages. Not all hotels include onward transfers from San Pedro airport to the hotel (specifically Royal Caribbean).

Car rentals are available to add to your Delta Vacations package, which offer the flexibility and convenience to travel when and where you want. For an even more memorable getaway, add an excursion like an exciting river safari to the ruins of Lamanai.
