Given San Diego’s near-perfect climate, the best experiences are often outdoors. Visit the San Diego – La Jolla Underwater Ecological Park for a snorkeling and scuba diving adventure. The plethora of sea life found here, ranging from lobster to sea bass, is protected. In summer, there are often schools of leopard sharks on the north end of the cove. There’s also a spectacular dive experience at Scripps Canyon, which lies in 60 feet under water, off the south end of Black’s Beach. Or, explore San Diego’s beautiful countryside by hiking, biking or walking.
Golf Digest named San Diego "One of the Top 50 Golf Destinations in the World." There are more than 90 courses located throughout the San Diego region, from seaside settings to desert mountains to inland valleys. Animal lovers won't want to miss the San Diego Zoo, which houses the Giant Panda Research Station and San Diego Wild Animal Park, where a safari tour showcases a variety of exotic animals in near-natural habitats.
